Roy Lee
Roy grew up torn between 2 states. Pennsylvania where he had lived with his mom, and Chapel Hill, Tennessee where he had lived with his dad. Chapel Hill is a small town, about 40 miles south of Nashville. He always loved spending time in the city watching and learning from all of the amazing talent that is showcased daily. His father and grand-father both played and sang as well. After high school, music was calling, and it was calling from every direction. He started going to karaoke bars where he became an almost daily winner wherever he would go. He even joined his first band at this time, eventually learning the guitar to help fill out the sound. From that moment on there was no slowing him down. He always had a love for 90’s country music, but it wasn’t as popular in Pennsylvania at the time and he got his start in a rock & roll band. He has shared the stage with the likes of Craig Morgan, Tenille Arts, Halestorm, Saving Jane, Kate Voegele (One Tree Hill), Blake Lewis (American Idol), Blind Melon, The Exies, Trust Company along with countless others.
Since moving to Nashville, he really started to get back to his 90’s country roots and found AJ’s to be a great bar to call home. He studied his vocal techniques with Steve Whiteman from KIX and has collaborated with amazing song writers like Chris Daughtry and many more. When Roy’s father had finally lost his battle with cancer in 2013, he was absolutely heartbroken, and that is when his mindset started to change. His dad was always there to keep him humble and remind him that "life was short and to live for what makes you happy, not what makes you money!” After the pandemic hit in 2020, Roy sold his house and quit his job in Pennsylvania to move to Nashville to pursue the dreams he's always had of being an artist and songwriter.
